Green Design
In an effort to bridge the gap between centuries-old agrarian traditions and modern-day travelers, corporate workers, and wellness seekers, Raisin set out to create a one-of-a-kind gathering space in Sonoma that would make farm life accessible to all.

With a reverence toward Sonoma's rich history and an eye for the future, Raisin's reinvigoration efforts include the following:
Ground-up construction of two Modern Barnhouse's, equipped with 46 solar panels that meet 100% of the farm's energy needs
Installation of an electric car charging station for green drivers
Fully-equipped industrial kitchen with commercial-grade appliances for group meal prep and cooking classes
Exclusive use of well water for drip irrigation system throughout the farm to save an average of 70% of water compared to conventional irrigation methods
Active composting program to create rich, fertile soil for healthy crops and reduce waste
Cover crop plantings for erosion control, improved soil structure, moisture retention, and carbon sequestration
Organic and pesticide-free farming practices
Completed in November of 2016, Sonoma Broadway Farms now raises over thirty varietals of organic vegetables, in addition to fruit trees, herbs, chickens, honeybees, goats and more and opens up its doors throughout the year to travelers, overnight vacation guests, school groups and the local community.
